I’ve been listening to two versions of the song Love is Blindness while revising my new adult novel. There’s the U2 original version and then the Jack White cover, which you may know best for being used in the trailer for Gatsby. In any case, this song is amazing! Check out both versions, whether on iTunes, Spotify, or elsewhere. It’s such a great love song about yearning, desire, and the kind of crazed intensity that love can bring. Here are some of the lyrics…
“Love is blindness
I don’t want to see
Won’t you wrap the night
Around me
Oh my heart
Love is blindness
In a parked car
In a crowded street
You see your love
Made complete
Thread is ripping
The knot is slipping
Love is blindness
Love is clockworks
And cold steel
Fingers too numb to feel
Squeeze the handle
Blow out the candle
Love is blindness.”
I’m going to go work on a playlist now for writing inspiration! What’s on yours?
xoxo
Lauren
